Hi! I’m Dave

I like to make stuff! I started this website back in the fall of 2016 as a way to document some of the many projects I build. As it’s grown, this site has also become a place for me to share my knowledge and help other people bring their own ideas to life.

I have a B.A. in Communications and English, although I spent my later years in college as a member of a Formula SAE team, helping to design and fabricate a small open-wheel racecar from scratch. It was there that I discovered my passion for engineering.

For the things I build I wear many different hats – on any given day I’m an engineer, a programmer, an inventor, a designer, a fabricator, or an artist. Many of my projects combine several different disciplines in order to create something wholly unique. That’s what makes it fun!

I’m self-taught in:

  • 3D Printing
  • CAD
  • Electronics
  • Programming (C, C++, Python, JavaScript, PHP)
  • Propmaking
  • Writing overly-detailed technical posts

I’m not much for social media, but you can find me on Twitter (@partmad). I hope this blog inspires you to tackle your own projects – whatever your skill level.
